Inge’s first solo venture, Shipwrecks & Static is
an eccentric marriage between melodic instruments and the bleeps and
squeaks of electronic tomfoolery. Inge wrote, recorded and produced the
bulk of the album and is joined here by the angelic voice of Heidi
Talbot, the edgy guitars of Brighton based Tom Cook and a cameo
appearance of Martin Green of award winning diddle-superstars Lau.
NEWS: solo album due for release 10th May 2010.

First Sighting - The Martin Green Machine
(Navigator 2009)
The Green Machine started life as Lau accordionist Martin Green’s
commission piece for last year’s Celtic Connections’ New Voices series.
Wild noise carvings, voices of unspoilt beauty and a brass band
shrunken and mutated during their trip through time and space sit atop
a backline of broken beat and ferocious groove. Girls, Brass, Beats and
Accordions, they’ve got it all !
“Pulls together a plethora of stylistic references: folk, avant rock,
dance, global, jazz, sampling, you name it- in an original and exciting
way that is all his own.” (The Scotsman)
Storm in a Teacup - Harem Scarem
(Vertical Records 2008)
The 3rd studio album from contemporary trad quartet Harem Scarem
comprising equal parts songs and instrumentals. Fiddles,
accordion and guitar provide the backbone of the album with some
interesting guest appearances including Rick Taylor on trombone and
sousaphone. The girls share the duty of lead vocals each adding a
different flavour to the mix. Harem Scarem are: Eilidh Shaw -
fiddle/vox. Sarah McFadyen - fiddle/vox. Ross Martin - guitar. Inge
Thomson - accordion/vox "Storm In A Teacup maintains a
degree of excitement throughout, mainly because you never really know
what to expect next, and that instils a real spirit and sense of
spontaneity. It runs away with you to exhilarating highs and warmly
comforts you thorough bitter-sweet moments of introspective doubt..."
